Hong Kong Pools

When you think of Hong Kong, shopping and dim sum may come to mind first, but swimming pools? It turns out that the city is packed with picturesque pools. From the world’s highest pool to a natural infinity pond on a mountainside, here are some of Hong Kong’s best pools to splash around in.

Hong Kong’s public and government-run swimming pools tend to be crowded during the summer. But if you’re willing to shell out some money, you can find plenty of hotel pools that are a lot more private and offer top-notch facilities. These hotels also offer amazing views, dining options and more to make your swimming experience that much more luxurious.

The pool at the Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong, is a stunner in every sense of the word. With a view of Victoria Harbor, the pool is surrounded by lounge chairs and cabanas. There’s even a private plunge pool for guests who want to get in a quick dip.

Located at the foot of the Victoria Peak, this pool is a great way to beat the heat and take in the spectacular scenery. The pool is free for hotel guests but if you’re not staying at the property, admission costs HK$19 per session. There are three sessions each day: 6:30am-12:00, 1:00-6:00 and 7:00-10:00pm. Lockers are available for a refundable deposit of HK$5 or you can bring your own padlock.

Designed by United Kingdom-based Derek Walker Associates, this pool was part of the redevelopment of Kowloon Park sponsored by the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club. It features one or more 50-meter pools, changing rooms and a lobby located mostly underneath a covered grandstand. The facility is operated by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

This beautiful outdoor pool is a true oasis in the heart of the city. Its design was inspired by the shape of a seashell, and it’s also home to an artificial beach and a waterfall. It’s worth the trek up the hill to check it out, but just be warned that you’ll need a good amount of energy to make it back down again!

This opulent hotel pool looks like it’s straight out of a Gatsby movie. With marbled Roman columns, striped lounge chairs and stunning views of the skyline, it’s the perfect place to relax and soak up some sun in style. The only problem is that this pool is only open to hotel guests, so book a stay at the Rosewood Hong Kong on Klook to enjoy its luscious facilities.
