A community-driven design process was integral to the successful delivery of this unique facility. WTI’s team met regularly with the Mayor’s Swimming Pool Committee to understand the community’s needs and aspirations for the project. They then worked with the local council to conduct a feasibility study, site evaluation and selection, preliminary design, and cost estimates.

WTI’s experience in the field of community swimming facilities allowed them to create a one-of-a-kind facility specifically designed to meet the needs of the community and the City of Sydney. It is the first large-scale public pool in Australia to include an indoor leisure area, an outdoor water playscape, and a state-of-the-art 50-metre swimming and diving pool. The pool also includes an active sports court, a children’s playground and multi-purpose pavilions that can be used for training, education, and community events.

Murray Rose Pool (known as Redleaf to the locals) is a gorgeous swimming spot only 10 minutes from the CBD. It’s a tidal pool so can get a bit dirty or taken over by jellyfish, but it’s a perfect place for a day out. Swim in the clear, warm saltwater, stroll around the boardwalk, and sit back and relax at a cafe or park above the pool. It’s a must-visit when visiting Sydney.
